Abstract:

Today, developments in the field of science and technology have also created significant effects in the field of education. These effects have caused a change in educational paradigms, and practices such as distance education have become widespread due to situations such as epidemics, war and earthquakes. In this case, the use and integration of technology in education has gained importance and the need for information technology formatter teachers has increased. In this research, it is aimed to evaluate the information technologies formatter teachers who are assigned to guide teachers and students regarding the maintenance and repair of interactive whiteboards, in line with the opinions of school administrators. The research was designed in a phenomenology pattern, one of the qualitative research methods. In this research, interviews were conducted with eight school administrators selected from among the administrators working in secondary schools in Yazıhan district of Malatya province. In the study, an interview form developed by the researchers and consisting of six questions was used. Descriptive analysis technique was used to analyze the research data. As a result of the research, it was found that the majority of the teachers appointed as information technologies formatter teachers consist of teachers in different branches, the teachers to be appointed as IT formatter teachers must be in the IT teacher branch, and as a result of assignments to different schools, there is a shortage of teachers in the school, problems in preparing the curriculum and course assignments. It has been concluded that IT format teachers do not have the necessary competencies, especially in terms of technological knowledge and maintenance and repair of technological tools and equipment, and that technical staff should be assigned for the maintenance and repair of technological tools and equipment.
