Abstract:

Source: This study aims to examine the opinions and recommendations of school managers on the policies related to professional development in the Education Vision 2023 document. Research quality research approaches are formed in the context of the situation study, and the data is collected using a semi-structured interview form. The sample group applied to their opinions in the study consists of 22 managers who are working in the Erzincan province in the 2018-2019 educational year and are identified with easy-to-access sample, which is one of the targeted sample methods. The data obtained was analyzed using the content analysis method. The data analysis process is used by the NVivo 9.0 program. According to the analysis, managers have found that the use of written examinations and objective standards in the process of assignment to the school management, the structure of the school management as a professional career field based on professional expertise skills, and the introduction of horizontal and vertical career expertise in the school management are mostly positive. In addition, the conclusion has been achieved that the introduction of a new incentive mechanism to managers in unfavourable conditions and the extension of the teaching profession law are mostly positively welcomed by managers. Finally, there were recommendations for the professional development of the managers.
