Abstract:

In many areas of the world, rapidly growing digitalization is not only technologically transformed but also influenced by the re-formation of society in many areas of social, cultural, economic, and political. Especially after the 80s, the rapid development of computer, internet and mobile technologies has become an indispensable element of people’s social life, revealing the new generation’s definitions and cultural practices. This new generation of users, described by American thinker Marc Prensky as digital indigenous, play an effective role in changing these cultural practices. Social media media, which is based on interaction on the internet networks, are the important areas of interest that these users stand on. As an effective medium of public communication and a branch of art, the cinema stands as a problem in how these users meet their needs on social media. In this context, in our research, the interest, attitudes and behaviors of digital indigenous people in the social media environment can be measured as an example to the students of the Istanbul Ayvansaray University in November 2018 for a week online (online) survey application, the behavior of the participants was studied.
