Abstract:

Tourism is one of the fastest growing economic activities in the world. To protect from the Covid 19 epidemic worldwide, transportation, economic, social and cultural areas have taken various measures and travel restrictions. These restrictions have affected other business arms as well as tourism and stopped the arrival and daily visits of domestic and foreign tourists. When the B epidemic spreads rapidly around the world, many economic sectors are stopped. The tourism industry is also very affected by this epidemic. In this study, the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic on tourism in Safranbolu were studied. The study used quantitative data to identify the effects of the epidemic on tourism. According to the results obtained, the Covid-19 epidemic has significantly reduced the number of tourists arriving in Safranbolu. Because tourism in Safranbolu is related to cultural heritage, mass tourism differs from tourism. Because of the flood, our country’s mass tourism is undergoing a major crisis. It can be said that small-scale cultural tourist destinations are more resistant to crises. In addition to the number, tourism has had a serious negative impact on the income. The situation after Covid-19 is expected to be different.In view of Turkey's tourism development, the country's tourism has continued to develop during major events, epidemics and conflicts in the world. However, the Covid-19 epidemic may reveal a different state than the previous events. The full impact of the flood on tourism is not yet clear and may be confronted with different consequences in the future.
