Abstract:

Presently, there is a conception that is becoming increasingly common that early childhood education is a determinant of good health and welfare, allows skill development, and has positive effects on the level of education, employment rates, and social productivity in the long run. It may be that the most critical issue in early childhood education is educating families. In general, family education programs that serve this purpose aim to inform families of parental skills, child care, and child education. Currently in Türkiye, family education programs led by the Ministry of Education and supported by non-governmental organizations are extensively serving the public. This literature review focuses on the importance, quality, methods, and benefits of family education in early childhood education as well as on the examples of family education in Türkiye and the latest updates in those education programs.
