Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in our country, the Ministry of National Education launched a free distance education system with a television and internet-based curriculum on March 23, 2020. Weekly course schedules were restructured in all schools at primary, secondary and high school levels, and necessary remedial education support was started to be provided over the Internet and television screens with EBA (Education Information Network). Within the scope of this research, it was aimed to determine the opinions of classroom teacher candidates on distance education of primary school students during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research includes the qualitative dimension of a study designed with mixed method. Within the scope of current study, in which criterion sampling, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was used, telephone interviews were conducted with classroom teacher candidates. The themes, sub-themes and categories created by following the qualitative data analysis process in the study were presented with direct quotations from the participants' views. In this study, it was revealed that the classroom teacher candidates thought that EBA TV was a good idea for students not to interrupt their education during the pandemic process and they had a positive perspective by stating that this application was successful in general. In addition, it was concluded that it is difficult to motivate students for the lessons in the distance education process, it is difficult to concentrate their attention, the responsibilities of teachers and parents increase, and especially the anxiety levels of parents increase. One of the results of the study is that distance education is not suitable for the developmental characteristics of primary school students and is inadequate especially in meeting the socialization needs of children.
