With globalization and increasing competition, logistics has become one of the most important elements of international trade and the importance of international logistics for trade as a facilitator and therefore for economic growth has become one of the titles widely discussed in literature. The main objective of the current study in this context is to identify the impact of logistics performance on the export and import volume using the 2007-2018 period data on the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) created by the World Bank and statistical panel data analysis. The ambitious findings show that the logistics performance has a positive impact on exports in both OECD countries and low-mediate income countries. In contrast, there is no conclusion that the logistics performance affects imports for both countries.
Logistics has become one of the most critical elements of international trade as a result of globalization and increasing competition, and the importance of international logistics as a trade facilitator for the growth of trade and thus for economic growth has been among the most discussed topics in the literature. In this context, the primary purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of logistics performance on export and import volume using data on the World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index (LPI) for the period 2007-2018 and static panel data analysis. The empirical evidence suggests that logistics performance positively affects exports both in the OECD countries and low-middle-income countries. On the other hand, logistics performance does not seem to affect both country groups' imports.
