Abstract:

The innovations that mankind has introduced in recent years have brought about developments unprecedented in the known history of mankind. New technologies have led to the emergence of new fields of work and new professions, while at the same time diversifying existing job options. Especially with the industrialization process, the ever-changing and transforming mobile structure of sports has been effective in expanding the employment opportunities in this sector to a wide range. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the attitudes of the students studying in the faculties of sport sciences in Ankara towards career adaptability and to compare these attitudes according to their demographic characteristics. The research is in the relational survey model and 444 university students studying at the faculties of sport sciences in Ankara (Ankara, Gazi, Hacettepe Universities) selected by convenience sampling method participated in the research. In the study, in addition to the personal information form containing demographic information such as gender, department, grade, licensed athlete and participation in sports, the Career Adaptability Scale developed by Savicas and Profeli (2012) and validated and reliable in Turkish by Kanten (2012) was applied to the participants. Frequency and percentage calculations were made, t-Test was used to analyze paired groups, and One Way Anova test was used for groups of three or more. In the study, it was found that there were no significant differences according to the variables of gender, department of education and class, while there were significant differences according to the variables of regular participation in sports and being a licensed athlete. As a result, it was concluded that the career adaptability levels of sport sciences faculty students were high.
