Abstract:

Environmental problems are increasing every day. Studies show that damage to nature can lead to irreversible consequences. When harm to nature leads to negative effects on human life, a situation called environmental problems occurs. The environmental problems are the problem of the present as the problem of the future. Because the result of many activities that affect the nature of man will appear in the future. Starting from today’s youth, future generations may face significant environmental problems. As young people are aware of this, it is important that they possess their future from today, in order to be able to solve environmental problems. In this regard, the study focuses on the awareness of young people about environmental problems. In the framework of the study, a survey was implemented to determine the awareness of the students of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of the University of Batman on environmental issues. In general, it is revealed that students are aware of environmental issues, they feel responsible. There is a distinction between the world and Turkey on environmental issues. There has also been no significant influence of the university on this awareness.
