Görsel sanatlar, çatısı altında birçok farklı disiplin barındırmaktadır. Bunlar; resim, fotoğraf, mimari, heykel ve grafik tasarım olarak örneklendirilebilir. Her biri kendi içinde farklı amaçlar ve gereklilikler taşısa da bu disiplinlerin bazı temel ortak özellikleri bulunmaktadır. Bu ortak özellikler, bazı eserlerde işlevsellik açısından örneklendirilebilirken genellikle biçimsel açıdan görsel algıyı olumlu yönde etkileyen gereklilikler ile karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Sanat tarihinde, görsel algının güçlü bir şekilde gerçekleşebilmesi için doğanın ve doğadaki oranların referans alındığı birçok sanat eseri bulunmaktadır. Gerçekçi bir yaklaşımla yaratılan sanat eserlerinde kullanılan ve insan vücudunda da bulunan mükemmel oranlar; Altın Oran olarak adlandırılmaktadır. Sanat eserlerinde Altın Oran’ın kullanımı, eserin izleyicide yarattığı etkiyi ve algıyı güçlendirmektedir. Bu bağlamda, bir düşünce ya da mesajın görsel olarak yansıtılmasını hedefleyen grafik tasarım alanında yaratılan çalışmalarda da Altın Oran’ın önemi yadsınamaz boyuttadır. Bu çalışmada Altın Oran’ın grafik tasarım alanına yansımaları; sanat tarihinde, görsel sanatlar alanında altın orandan yararlanılarak yaratılan örnek eserlerin referans alınması yoluyla incelenmiş, grafik tasarım alanının spesifik özellikleri çerçevesinde değerlendirilmiştir.
Visual arts hosts many different disciplines under the roof. These can be sampled as painting, photography, architecture, statue and graphic design. Although each has different purposes and requirements within itself, these disciplines have some fundamental common characteristics. These common characteristics can be demonstrated in some works in terms of functionality, while we often face the requirements that positively influence visual perception from a formal point of view. In art history, there are many works of art in which the proportions of nature and nature are referred to in order for visual perception to be able to perform strongly. The perfect proportions used in the works of art created by a realistic approach and found in the human body are called the Gold Rate. The use of the Golden Rate in the works of art strengthens the effect and perception the work creates in the audience. In this context, the importance of the Gold Rate in the work created in the graphic design field that a thought or message aims to be visually reflected is also irrevocable. In this study, the reflections of the gold rate in the graphic design field; in the history of art, the examples of works created using the gold rate in the field of visual arts were studied through the reference, evaluated in the framework of the specific characteristics of the graphic design field.
