Günümüzde İzmir’in Kemalpaşa ilçesine bağlı bir mahalle olan Kızılca köyü, gerek nüfusu gerekse verimli ve geniş tarım arazilerine sahip olması sebebiyle, oldukça önemli ve büyük bir yerleşim yeridir. Tarihi dokusunu büyük oranda koruyan ve doğal güzellikleri sayesinde de, özellikle yaz aylarında, nüfusu oldukça artan Kızılca köyü günümüzde 8.000 kişilik bir nüfusa sahiptir. Batısından Nazarköy, güneyinden Dereköy ve Bayramlı, kuzeyinden ise Aşağı kızılca mahalleleri ile komşu olan Kızılca, Kemalpaşa merkeze ise 9 kilometre uzaklıkta bulunmaktadır. Kızılca köyünün, günümüzde olduğu gibi, geçmişte de oldukça kesif bir yerleşim ve nüfusa sahip olduğu görülmektedir. Kemalpaşa ilçesinin önemli yerleşim yerlerinden olan Kızılca köyünün, 19. Yüzyılın ilk yarısında, sosyal ve ekonomik açıdan ne durumda olduğu nüfus ve temettuat defterleri ışığında ortaya koymaya çalışılmıştır.
