Abstract:

The aim of this research is to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool to identify the career obstacles that teachers experience. A total of 45 subjects created by researchers by scanning the relevant field, with the prepared expert opinion form presented to the opinion of 6 experts. According to the opinions of the experts, the scale of 45 ingredients with extracted, corrected and added materials was applied to 315 teachers. The results of the obtained data were tried to be revealed by factor analysis. The analysis resulted in the conclusion that the scale consisted of 5 factors. Of these five factors, “administrative barriers” alone describe 37.435% of the common variance, the “political/sendical barriers” factor alone describes 11.298% of the common variance, the “family barriers” factor alone describes 5.892% of the common variance, the “high school bureaucratic barriers” factor alone describes 4.680% of the common variance, and finally the “economic barriers” factor alone describes 4.379% of the common variance. The factor loads of the scale consisting of 30 matters range from .451 to .832 . The Cronbach α internal consistency ratio for the whole scale is .94, the management-related obstacles are .93, the political-syndical obstacles are .86, the family obstacles are .86, the higher education bureaucratic obstacles are .78 and the economic obstacles are .86. It is estimated at 73. The values obtained as a result of the verifying factor analysis remain within normal or acceptable values limits (2/sd=3.19). These findings show that teachers' Career Disadvantages Scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool.
