Abstract:

The Qur'an has a unique, special, and connected world of words. In addition to the true conception of Allah, This word world tells how the relationship between Allah-world, Allah- servant and world- servant should be. At this point, when talking about any subject in the Qur'an, word groups that are closely connected with each other are used. For example, Allah (cc) in the Qur'an, with such wording as Rakîb, Alîm, Basîr, Habîr, Latîf etc. It introduces itself to the human comprehension by using the words and aims to create an accurate Allah Imagination. In this study, the etymology of the root of “ra-ka-be /رقب will be emphasized firstly. Because the determination of the meaning of a word with its original meaning and derivatives, and its subsequent meanings, means exploring the semantic field (semantic field) of the word. Subsequently, the words such as Alîm, Basîr, Habîr, Şehîd which are the attributes that Allah (c.c) refered himself in the Qur’an and which has meaning relationship with the Word “Rakîb” (رقيب), one of the derivatives of this root. In this context, though not directly, but indirectly, words and related verses that express the seeing and surveillance of Allah (cc) will be included. Thus, the meaning field of the ra-ka-be root in the Qur'an will be revealed.
