Abstract:

People's beliefs hold an important place in every stage of our daily life. No matter how modern it is, we can see the existence of people's beliefs in every society. The cultural wealth of a society can be measured by the diversity of people’s beliefs. It is also possible to acquire a lot of knowledge about the socio-cultural characteristics of these societies with the help of public beliefs, to determine the symbolic meaning of a subject or event. Though these people’s beliefs are forgotten for a long time, some of them still exist, showing a change. The aim of our study is to determine the place of people’s beliefs in the life of the Turkish and Georgian and to identify how they appear in their cultural life, in history. It is also to show them to make sure that common beliefs will come out between these two nations that have made neighborhood throughout history. For example, Samsun and Tiflis were selected. We believe that this comparison will be useful for both sides.  Because there is a different subject of study, the subject of birth, marriage and death is excluded. Some of the found beliefs were written from interviews with the source people, while others were obtained from different books and articles.
