Abstract:

The aim of the study is to identify the fundamental economic, social and demographic elements that can affect poverty. This framework will first address the phenomenon of poverty, then the methods of measuring poverty and the theoretical approaches of poverty. The study aims to contribute to literature with an empirical research that deals with the indicators of poverty more comprehensive. In this study, poor determiners from the point of view of selected developing countries were studied for the period 1995-2015 using the System Generalized Moments Method (GMM). According to the results of the analysis, a period of delay in poverty rate, the population, the unemployment rate and the increase in life expectancy increases poverty. On the other hand, increases in the income per person, in the foreign trade rate, in the industry’s GDP share, in the compulsory education year and in the individual internet use rate have been found to have a reductive effect on poverty.
