Abstract:

In the early ages, the human being took advantage of the images, forms, shapes to exchange feelings, thoughts and information, and with the discovery of the writing, the communication process has taken a new stage. The development of the caligraphy is directly related to the evolutionary process of the writing that forms its foundations. Caligraphy, defined as a beautiful writing art, is the arrangement of letters with aesthetic concern according to the visual interpretation of the artist. Unlike the functionality of the writing, the aesthetic values it contains and its formal structure, which changes depending on the style of the artist, provides the Caligraphy an artistic position. Religion, language, and cultures of the peoples, and the caligraphic style and diversity of the peoples are also reflected in their artistic attitude. The Asian and Arab nations-specific caligraphy has a structure in which the artist can reveal his personality, while the principle of presenting the objects of a composition designed in the Western caligraphy in a typographical manner in the framework of typographical standards is priority. The original form of the artist's narrative in the caligraphic designs, without a doubt, also contributes to the nature of the work. The search for more effective ways in visualizing the ideas of the artists has also allowed new interpretations of the caligraphy along with different art disciplines. The technique of painting with light or writing with light used in photography since the 1900s is one of the effective associations of caligraphy in this sense. This research is shaped on the "light caligraphy" and applications arising from the coloring technique with light and the dynamic combination of caligraphy.
