Devletlerin birbirleriyle olan bağları çok yönlü gelişir. Daha çok siyasi zeminde başlayan ilişkiler zamanla diğer alanlara yansır. Ekonomi, kültür, sosyal başlıklar altında ilerleyen iyi ilişkiler hem taraf ülkelerin kalkınmasını hem de uluslararası alanda itibar kazanmasını sağlar. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti, kuruluşundan itibaren bu hususlara önem vermiş, dış politikasının eksenini buna göre belirlemiştir. Özellikle bir dünya savaşı ve ulusal bağımsızlık mücadelesi vererek kurulan bir devlet olma özelliğiyle de bu tür pratikleri tecrübe etmiştir. Bu tecrübelerin ürünü olarak gelişmiş ve barış yanlısı ülkelerle irtibatını geliştirmiş, farklı alanlara da yayarak kalkınma hamlelerinde bulunmuştur. Türkiye’nin dış ilişkilerinde önemli bir yer tutan ekonomik ilişkileri İsviçre özelinde incelemek, bu çalışmanın sınırlılığını oluşturur. Kronolojik olarak İkinci Dünya Savaşı’nın bitiminden çok partili hayata geçişe kadar olan döneme odaklanılmıştır. Anılan yıllar arası Türkiye’nin İsviçre’ye hangi ürünleri ihraç ettiği, İsviçre’den hangi ürünleri ithal ettiği ve bu ticaretin parasal hacmi bu çalışmanın sorunsalını oluşturur. Bundan başka taraf ülkeler arası yapılan ticaret anlaşmalarının içeriği ve odak noktası, bu sorunsalın diğer parçasıdır. Çalışma birincil kaynaklardan yararlanılarak üretilmiştir. Başta Türkiye Devlet Arşivlerinden edinilen belgeler, Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu Dış Ticaret ve İstatistik Yıllıkları, TC. Merkez Bankası Yıllık Raporları birincil kaynaklar arasındadır. Bunlardan başka telif eserlerden yararlanılmıştır. Bu tür birincil kaynak ve telif eserlerden üretilen bu çalışmanın önemli bulguları arasında Türkiye’nin İsviçre ile iyi siyasi ilişkilerinin ticarete yansıdığı, Türkiye’nin daha çok işlenmemiş gıda ve sanayi ürünleri ihraç ederken, işlenmiş ürün ithal ettiği gösterilebilir. Bundan başka Türkiye’nin üretiminde önemli bir yer tutan tütün ve fındık gibi stratejik ürünleri, dış ticarette önemli bir yeri olduğu ve bu ülkeyle yaptığı anlaşmalarda ayrı konumda değerlendirdiği, çalışmanın bulguları arasındadır.
The relationship of states with each other develops in many ways. The relationships that start on a more political basis are reflected in other areas over time. Optimum relations progressing under the headings of economy, culture, social ensure both the development of the participating countries and gaining reputation in the international arena. The Republic of Turkey has given importance to these issues since its establishment and has determined the axis of its foreign policy accordingly. Especially with the feature of being a state established by fighting a world war and a national independence struggle, it has experienced such practices. As a product of these experiences, it has developed and improved its communication with countries that are pro-peace, and has made development moves by spreading it to different areas. The limitation of this study is to examine the economic relations that have an important place in Turkey's foreign relations with Switzerland. Chronologically, it is based on the period from the end of the Second World War to the transition to multiparty life. Which products Turkey exported to Switzerland, which products it imported from Switzerland and the monetary volume of this trade between the mentioned years constitute the problam of this study. Furthermore, the content and focus of the trade decrees concluded between the participating countries are the other part of this problem. The study was produced by using primary sources. The documents obtained primarily from the State Archives of Turkey, the Foreign Trade and Statistical Annals of the Turkish Statistical Institute, the Annual Reports of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey are among the primary sources. Additionally, other copyrighted works were used. Based on the important findings of this study, produced from such primary sources and copyrighted works, it can be shown that Turkey's good political relations with Switzerland are reflected in trade and while Turkey exports mostly unprocessed food and industrial products, it imports processed products. In addition, that strategic products such as tobacco and nuts, which occupy an important place in Turkey's production, have an important place in foreign trade and are evaluated separately in the agreements with this country, is among the findings of the study.
