Okul öncesi eğitim çocuğun doğumundan ilkokula başlayana kadar olan süreçteki, sosyal-duygusal, bilişsel, motor ve dil gelişimini destekleyici aynı zamanda öz bakım becerileri kazandırmayı hedefleyen belirli standartlarla hazırlanmış eğitim ortamlarında, planlanmış bir program çerçevesinde verilen eğitimdir. Bu araştırmada okul öncesi eğitime devam eden çocukların sınıflarında bulunan öğrenme merkezi tercihleri, bu tercihlerin yaş ve cinsiyete göre ne gibi farklılıklar gösterdiği, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum araştırması yapılarak belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma İstanbul Maltepe ilçesinde Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı özel bir anaokulunda bulunan 3, 4 ve 5 yaş gruplarında bulunan 68 çocuğun 2 ay boyunca haftada 2 gün tercih ettikleri öğrenme merkezlerinin kaydedilmesi ve oyun sırasındaki davranışlarının gözlenmesi yoluyla yapılmıştır. Farklı yaş gruplarının öğrenme merkezi tercihlerinin araştırılması çalışmayı önemli hale getirmektedir. Araştırma bulgularına göre ağırlıklı olarak tercih edilen öğrenme merkezlerinin dramatik oyun merkezi ve blok merkezi olduğu, kız öğrencilerin dramatik oyun merkezi ve sanat merkezini daha sık tercih ettikleri, erkek öğrencilerin ise dramatik oyun ve blok merkezini tercih ettikleri gözlenmiştir.
Pre-school education is a program that is provided in the framework of a program, which supports social-emotional, cognitive, motor and language development in the process from child's birth to early school, and is prepared in educational environments with specific standards aimed at acquiring self-care skills. This study aims to determine the learning center preferences in the classes of children who continue to pre-school education, the differences that these preferences show according to age and gender, the quality research methods by conducting the situation research. The study was conducted through the registration of the learning centers they prefer for 2 days a week for 68 children in the age groups of 3, 4 and 5 who are located in a private kindergarten associated with the Ministry of National Education in the province of Maltepe of Istanbul and the observation of their behavior during the game. The study of the learning center preferences of different age groups makes the study important. The research finds that the mainly preferred learning centers are dramatic play and block centers, the girls prefer the dramatic play and art centers more often, and the boys prefer the dramatic play and block centers.
Preschool education is the education provided within the framework of a planned program in educational environments prepared with certain standards that aim to support social-emotional, cognitive, motor and language development, as well as to gain self-care skills, from the birth of the child to the beginning of primary school. In this study, it was aimed to determine the learning center preferences in the classrooms of children attending pre-school education, how these preferences differ according to age and gender, by conducting a case study from qualitative research methods. The research was carried out by recording the learning centers of 68 children in the 3, 4 and 5 age groups in a private kindergarten affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in Maltepe, Istanbul, and observing their behaviors during play. Investigating the learning center preferences of different age groups makes the study important. According to the findings of the research, it was observed that the preferred learning centers were the dramatic game center and block center, female students preferred the dramatic game center and art center more, while male students preferred the dramatic game and block center.
