İstasyon Tekniğinin Türkçenin Yabancı Dil Olarak Öğretiminde Kullanımı

Abstract:

Dil öğretiminin gerçekleştirildiği ilk zamanlarından beri hedef dilin nasıl öğretileceği araştırmacıların üzerinde durduğu bir konu olmuştur. Bu doğrultuda süreç boyunca birçok yöntem ve teknik denenmiş, ayrıca ihtiyaca göre yeni yöntem ve tekniklere yönelimler de devam etmiştir. Günümüzde de Türkçenin yabancı dil olarak öğretildiği ortamlarda çeşitli yöntem ve teknikler tercih edilmektedir. Geleneksel ve çağdaş diye nitelenen bu yöntem ve tekniklerle Türkçenin etkili bir şekilde öğretimi hedeflenmektedir. İstasyon tekniği de yapısı itibariyle dil öğretiminde kullanılabilecek çağdaş tekniklerden biri olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkçenin yabancı dil olarak öğretiminde istasyon tekniğinin kullanımını öğrenci görüşlerine göre değerlendirmektir. Çalışma nitel araştırma yöntemi çerçevesinde fenomenolojik desenle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma, Erzincan ilinde Türkçe ve Yabancı Dil Öğretimi Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi’nde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmaya bu TÖMER’de öğrenim görmekte olan on iki yabancı öğrenci katılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri yarı açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile toplanmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizi içerik analiziyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yapılan görüşmelerde katılımcıların istasyon tekniğini farklı ve faydalı buldukları, öğrenciler ve öğretmenler arasında iletişimi artırdığı, çeşitli açılardan öğrencilere katkılarda bulunduğu, öğrencilerin bu tekniğin diğer derslerde de kullanılması düşüncesine sahip oldukları sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlardan yola çıkarak, istasyon tekniğiyle yapılan etkinliklerin sayısının artırılması ve farklı içeriklerle zenginleştirilmesi, dil becerilerinin kazandırılmasında ve geliştirilmesinde bu teknikten faydalanılması önerilerinde bulunulmuştur.

Since the beginning of the language teaching has been a topic that researchers have struck on how the target language is taught. In this direction, many methods and techniques have been tested throughout the process, as well as new methods and techniques have been continued according to the need. Today, there are many different methods and techniques that are preferred in the environments where Turkish is taught as a foreign language. This method and technique, which is defined as traditional and contemporary, is effectively aimed at teaching Turkish. Station technology is also highlighted as one of the modern techniques that can be used in language teaching according to its structure. The aim of this study is to evaluate the use of station technique in teaching Turkish as a foreign language according to the student’s opinions. The study was carried out in the framework of the phenomenological method of research. The research was conducted at the Turkish and Foreign Language Teaching Applied and Research Center in Erzincan Province. The study was attended by twelve foreign students who were studying in this TOMER. The data of the study was collected through a semi-configured interview form consisting of semi-open end questions. The analysis of the data is done through content analysis. The interviews concluded that the participants found the station technique different and useful, improved the communication between students and teachers, contributed to students from various aspects, and that the students had the idea of using this technique in other courses. Based on the results obtained, the number of activities carried out with station technology has been increased and the enrichment with different content, the acquisition and development of language skills has been recommended to take advantage of this technique.

Since the early days of language teaching, researchers have been interested in how to teach the foreign language. In this direction, many methods and techniques have been tried throughout the process, and the orientations towards new methods and techniques have also continued. Today, various methods and techniques are preferred in the environments where Turkish language as a foreign language. Effective teaching of Turkish is aimed with these methods and techniques called traditional and contemporary. The station technique also stands out as one of the contemporary techniques that can be used in language teaching due to its structure. The aim of this study is to evaluate the use of station technique in teaching Turkish as a foreign language according to student’ views. The study was carried out with phenomenological design within the framework of qualitative research method. The research was carried out in Erzincan province in TÖMER. Twelve foreign students studying at TÖMER attended the study. The data of the study were collected through a semi-structured interview form consisting of semi-open ended questions. The analysis of the obtained data was carried out by content analysis. In the interviews, participants were found to find the station technique to be different and useful, to improve communication between students and teachers, to contribute to the students from various angles; and students think that this technique should be used in other courses. From the results obtained, it has been proposed to increase the number of activities with station technique and enrich it with different contents to use this technique in acquiring and developing language skills.
