ÖZEL YETENEKLİ ÖĞRENCİLERİN DUYGUSAL TEPKİSELLİK, ÖZ-YETERLİK VE PSİKOLOJİK KIRILGANLIK DÜZEYLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ: BİR KARMA YÖNTEM ÇALIŞMASI

Abstract:

Bu araştırmanın amacı, Bilim ve Sanat Merkezi (BİLSEM)’e devam eden özel yetenekli öğrencilerin psikolojik kırılganlıklarının incelenmesi ve ortaya çıkan bulgular doğrultusunda duygusal tepkisellik, öz-yeterlik ve psikolojik kırılganlık arasındaki yordayıcı ilişkilerin tespit edilmesidir. Keşfedici karma model deseni kullanılan araştırmanın çalışma grubunu BİLSEM’de görevli beş öğretmen ile BİLSEM’de eğitim alan toplam 200 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Odak Grup Görüşme Formu, Öz-yeterlik Ölçeği, Duygusal Tepkisellik Ölçeği ve Psikolojik Kırılganlık Ölçeği kullanılarak veri toplanan araştırmanın nitel analizi sonucunda, özel yetenekli çocuklarda psikolojik kırılganlığın yetersizlik algısı ve duygusal tepkisellik kavramları etrafında şekillendiği; nicel analizi sonucunda erkek öğrencilerin kız öğrencilere oranla kendilerini sosyal öz-yeterlik, duygusal öz-yeterlik düzeyinde daha yeterli algıladıkları; kız öğrencilerin, erkek öğrencilere göre daha hassas, daha tepkisel ve psikolojik olarak daha az dayanıklı oldukları; kız öğrencilerin erkek öğrencilere oranla daha kırılgan oldukları görülmüştür. Yapılan Hiyerarşik Regresyon neticesinde ise özel yetenekli öğrencilerin öz-yeterlik düzeylerinin duygusal tepkiselliğe yol açan etkisinde öğrencilerin psikolojik kırılganlık düzeylerinin kısmi aracı değişken rolü bulunduğu gözlemlenmiştir.

An Investigation On The Levels Of Emotional Reactivity, Self-efficacy, and Psychological Vulnerability Of Gifted Students: A Mixed-methods Study

Abstract:

The current study aims to examine the psychological vulnerabilities of the gifted students continuing their education at the Science and Art Center (BİLSEM) and to determine the predictive relationships between emotional reactivity, self-efficacy, and psychological vulnerability with the findings obtained. The study group of the study using exploratory mixed model design consists of five teachers and a total of 200 students studying at BİLSEM. The Focus Group Interview Form, the Self-Efficacy Scale, the Emotional Reactivity Scale and the Psychological Vulnerability Scale were used in the study. As a result of the qualitative analysis, it was found that the psychological vulnerability of the gifted students was associated with the concepts of perception of inadequacy and emotional reactivity. According to the findings of the quantitative data analysis, it was found that male students perceived themselves more competent at the level of social self-efficacy and emotional self-efficacy than female students; female students were more sensitive, more reactive, and psychologically less resistant than male students; while female students were found to be more psychologically vulnerable than male students. Finally, as a result of the Hierarchical Regression, it was observed that the psychological vulnerability levels of the gifted students had a partial mediating variable role in the causal effect of self-efficacy levels of the gifted students on emotional reactivity.
