Abstract:

The method frequently applied in late-term treatments of scellular class 3 anomalies is surgery-backed orthodontic therapy. However, in cases where the anomaly is not severe, orthodontic camouflage treatment is an alternative approach in patients who are disturbed by dental aesthetics rather than facal appearance. The purpose of the treatment of camouflage is to provide an acceptable oculusion, function and aesthetics with the compensation of the dentoalveals by neglecting the skeletal incompatibility, the proclination of the dentoalveals and the retroclination of the mandibular cuts. The method that is frequently applied for this purpose is the use of Class III elastics. In addition, the treatment that has gained popularity in recent years is also frequently applied in order to submolar distalation. During the planning of the treatment of the camouflage of class 3 anomalies, the severity of the scellular irregularity, the straight direction size of the face, the position of the cut teeth and periodontal health should be taken into account. In patients with light and moderate severity of Class 3 anomalies prefer the treatment of orthodontic camouflage, the treatment is more functional and dental esthetics, with less soft tissue and scellular changes. This collection will describe the methods of late-term camouflage treatment of class III maloclutions.
