Abstract:

The family phenomenon has become an important institution for the society due to its functions, but due to the policies implemented, it is faced with numerous risks today. In this respect, it is important to reveal the factors that pose a problem for the family and to examine the socio-economic situation, which is one of the issues that they experience the most risk. In this context, the main purpose of our research is to determine the experiences of families with low socio-economic status and to develop suggestions for the needs of families with economic problems. In this study, in which qualitative research method was used, phenomenological design was used. Socio-demographic information form and semi-structured interview form were used as data collection tools. The data obtained within the scope of the study were analyzed using the content analysis technique. MAXQDA qualitative analysis program was used in the analysis process. In this context, within the scope of the research, data were collected by conducting in-depth interviews with a total of 17 families, 9 women and 8 men, who were in low socio-economic status from Mamak District of Ankara Province. According to the results of our research families have been found as follows; low income level, high unemployment rate, high disability or chronic disease rate, low education level, early marriage and high household population, high delinquency or being a victim of crime, substance use and having inappropriate and inadequate household characteristics.
