Abstract:

Today, when our consumption habits change day by day, when resources begin to be consumed faster, sustainability policies have begun to take more place in our lives. The Cittaslow movement has also emerged with the aim of preserving the existing culture and assets in the cities, and has also started to be widely applied in Turkey. This study aims to study graduate theses in the field of slow cities in Turkey (Cittaslow) using the bibliometric analysis method. Graduate theses studied within the framework of the research are obtained from the records of the Higher Education Institution Thesis Center. A total of 97 undergraduate thesis studies, including 16 doctoral and 81 master theses prepared and allowed to access between 2010-2020 years, have been examined. This study is important in our country for the first time that the theses in the field of Cittaslow are subject to content analysis. The research finds that most of the postgraduate studies in Cittaslow have been studied at the master’s level, and the references in the sources have most profited from the articles. In the use of resources, the rate of domestic resources is 70% higher, while the rate of foreign resources is 30% lower.
