In the 2012-2019 years in the Iznik Roma Theatre, many Bizanese secret ceramics were found in the mining work. From the various points of the theater, these ceramics handled together with the Ottoman Period ceramics and three-foot oven materials attract attention with their original and diverse decorations. The Byzantine secret ceramics in the theater are divided into two main groups, white and red, according to the type of powder. From the 9th century to the 12th century, the white powder ceramics include the subgroups "Bask Technical" and "Multi-Color Painted" underlying. During the period from the 12th century to the end of the 14th century, frequently used red powder ceramics were subgrouped according to the production and fabrication techniques. The red-pure ceramic groups in the theater consist of "Zeuksippus Type", "Astar Painting (Slip) Technical" and "Green/Brown Cutting and Painting" ceramics. These examples consist of sgraffito-technical Zeuksippus-type ceramics with a variety of spots of buluntu intensity. This group includes plant, geometric motifs, figurative and monogram examples. It is stated by researchers in Iznik that in the Byzantine era there was ceramic production. Although there are a lot of semi-productive examples on the theater area with ceramic oven and oven materials from the Ottoman era, it is difficult to say this for the name of the Byzantine era. However, with the numerous original and varied repairs found in the Theatre, the Byzantine secret ceramics are important examples of supporting the production of the Byzantine Period ceramics in Iznik.
