Abstract:

The research aimed to compare the motivation levels of the bağlama students receiving vocational music education toward the baglama lesson. In this context, the motivation levels of the students were compared in terms of university, faculty, class, age, gender, and the type of high school they graduated from, and the differences were determined. The research is a descriptive field study, and it was designed in a survey model. The study group of the research consists of 137 baglama students receiving vocational music education at the undergraduate level in the Faculty of Education, Fine Arts/Music and Performing Arts Faculty at Akdeniz, Erciyes, Gazi, Hitit, Niğde Ömer Halisdemir, Ondokuz Mayıs and Ordu universities, and Music Departments of the State Conservatories in the 2022-2023 academic year. Relevant data were collected using the “Individual Instrument Lesson Motivation Scale” developed by Girgin in 2015. In line with the research findings, it was concluded that the success motivation levels of the students receiving vocational music education toward the baglama lesson differ significantly according to the variables of university, age, gender, and the type of high school they graduated, but there is no difference in the variables of the faculty and class level; however, the study motivation levels of the students differ significantly according to the variables of university, faculty, class, age, gender and the type of high school they graduated.
