In this study, which implemented relational screening model, problem solving skills and social skills levels of prospective music teacher candidates were identified and correlation between them is determined and assessed. As data collection tool, “Problem Solving Inventory”, Turkish adaptation of which is made by Şahin, Şahin and Heppner (1993) and “Social Skills Scale” (Self-Definition Inventory), Turkish adaptation of which is made by Yüksel (1997), have been used in this study. As a result of this study, which was performed with 90 undergraduate students studying in department of music education at Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) during 2014-2015, it was established that the general social skills of the participants are medium-level while they are generally successful at problem solving.
