Bir Eğitsel Materyal Olarak Karikatür ve Eğitimde Karikatür Kullanımına Yönelik Kesitsel Bir Değerlendirme

Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de karikatürün eğitsel bir materyal olarak kullanımı ile ilgili gerçekleştirilen çalışmaların genel görünümleri ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu doğrultuda 2000- 2020 yılları arasında yapılan akademik çalışmalar türüne (lisansüstü tez, makale ve bildiri), yayımlandığı yıllara, hedef kitlesine, kullanılan karikatür türüne, araştırma modeline ve ilgili oldukları eğitim alanlarına göre değerlendirilmiştir. Bu çalışma alanyazın taramasına dayalı bir inceleme çalışmasıdır. Çalışmada nitel araştırma kapsamında değerlendirilen doküman incelemesi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın verilerine YÖK’ün Ulusal Tez Merkezindeki ilgili tezler ve internetteki arama motorları kullanılarak ulaşılmıştır. Tez, makale ve bildirilerin belirlenmesinde başlığında ‘karikatür’ ifadesi yer alan ve karikatürün eğitsel bir materyal olarak kullanımı ile ilgili olan çalışmalar esas alınmıştır. Ulaşılan verilerin analizinde betimsel analiz kullanılarak sonuçlar yorumlanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara göre en çok yüksek lisans çalışmasının gerçekleştirildiği, hedef kitle olarak ortaokul öğrencilerinin seçildiği, yöntem olarak nicel araştırmaların daha çok kullanıldığı, kullanılan karikatürlerin çoğunlukla kavram karikatürü olduğu ve çalışmaların Fen Eğitimine yönelik gerçekleştirildiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

A discontinuous assessment of the use of cartoons and cartoons in education as an educational material

Abstract:

In this study, we tried to reveal the general views of the studies carried out in Turkey regarding the use of cartoon as an educational material. According to this, academic studies conducted between 2000 and 2020 have been evaluated according to the type (graduate thesis, article and statement), the years in which they were published, the target audience, the type of cartoon used, the research model and the relevant fields of education. This study is a study based on the scan of the area. In the study, the method of evaluation of the document was used in the framework of quality research. The data of the study was obtained by using the relevant theses at YÖK’s National Thesis Center and search engines on the internet. The thesis, the determination of the articles and reports is based on the studies that include the expression "cartoon" in the title and relate to the use of the cartoon as an educational material. The results are interpreted using visual analysis in the analysis of the data. According to the findings obtained in the study, the most master's work was carried out, the target audience was selected for high school students, the method was more used for quantitative research, the cartoons used were mostly concept cartoons and the studies were carried out towards Science Education.

In this study, the overall appearance of the work carried out on the use of cartoons as educational material in Turkey is revealed. Accordingly, academic studies made between 2000-2020 were examined according to type (graduate theses, articles and proceeding papers), years of publication, target audience, cartoon type used, research model and educational fields. This study is a review study based on literature review. In this study, the document review method evaluated within the scope of qualitative research was used. The data of the study were reached by using relevant theses in the National Thesis Center of YÖK and search engines on the internet. In the determination of the thesis, articles and presentations, the studies with the phrase "cartoon" in the title and related to the use of cartoons as an educational material were taken as a basis. In the analysis of the data obtained, the results were interpreted using descriptive analysis. According to the findings obtained as a result of the study, it was concluded that most of the graduate study was carried out; secondary school students were chosen as the target audience; quantitative research was used as a method; cartoons used were mostly concept cartoons and the studies were carried out for Science Education.
