Proje tabanlı öğrenme, öğretme-öğrenme sürecinin proje odaklı olarak sürdürülmesidir. Belli bir zaman diliminde yürütülen proje çalışmaları, temelde öğrencinin merkezde olduğu, aktif rol aldığı, kendi öğrenmelerini kendisinin oluşturduğu, sorumluluk aldığı ve arkadaşlarıyla iş birliği içerisinde bulunduğu bir anlayışa dayanmaktadır. Proje tabanlı öğrenme ile ilgili olarak daha ziyade fen ve matematik alanında çalışmalar yapılmıştır. Ancak, özellikle son zamanlarda Sosyal Bilgiler eğitiminde de bu alanda yapılmış çok sayıda çalışmalarla karşılaşmak mümkündür. Bu araştırmada ise, Sosyal Bilgiler eğitiminde proje tabanlı öğrenme ile ilgili yapılmış tez, makale ve bildirilerin meta-sentez yöntemi kullanılarak incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu araştırmada, Sosyal Bilgiler eğitiminde proje tabanlı öğrenme ile ilgili ilgili yapılan çalışmaların nitel yöntemler kullanılarak analiz edilmesi ve bu bağlamda genel eğilimlerin tespit edilmesi hedeflendiği için, nitel araştırma desenleri kapsamında değerlendirilen meta-sentez yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler, proje tabanlı öğrenme ile ilgili çalışmaların amaçları, yöntemleri, örneklem grupları, veri toplama araçları, sonuçları ve önerileri bağlamında analiz edilmiştir. Toplanan veriler, tablolar ve şekiller ile görselleştirilip yorumlanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, Sosyal Bilgiler eğitimde, proje tabanlı öğrenme ile ilgili çok sayıda çalışmanın yapıldığı ve bu çalışmalarda genellikle konu ile ilgili öğretmenlerin, öğretmen adaylarının ve öğrencilerin görüşlerini belirlemeye yönelik olarak gerçekleştirildiği tespit edilmiştir.
Project-based learning is the continuation of the teaching-learning process project-oriented. Project work conducted within a certain time period is based on a understanding that the student is in the center, acts in an active role, forms his own learning, takes responsibility, and is in cooperation with his friends. Study in the field of science and mathematics has been done rather in relation to project-based learning. However, it is also possible to face a lot of work done in this field, especially in recent Social Information education. This study, however, aims to study the theses, articles and reports made about project-based learning in Social Information Education using the meta-sensation method. In this study, the meta-synthetic method was used, as it aims to analyze projects related to project-based learning using qualitative methods and identify general trends in this context, evaluated within the framework of qualitative research patterns. The data obtained in the research was analyzed in the context of project-based learning studies; purposes, methods, sampling groups, data collection tools, results and recommendations. The data collected are visualized and interpreted with tables and shapes. The research has found that a large number of studies on project-based learning were carried out in Social Information Education and that these studies were often carried out in order to determine the views of the teachers, teachers candidates and students in the subject.
