Abstract:

The first encounter of man with the picture began with the calling of the objects he sees in nature through the senses and the transfer of some objects on him. Thro the years, lines have become a means of communication, not with their shaped appearances, but with their gathering and systematic understanding. The linear language of linear figures has become the art of transmitting a phenomenon, a situation, a message. Since the expressions in the text are translated in geometric forms on the pages, the cartoon language shows great differences from other literary types. According to the situation of the story, information is usually given within the squares and rectangles, and dialogues are also given within the balls. In cartoons, using short expressions instead of long descriptions, new words, sounds, special symbols and famous phrases are more common in other kinds of narrative. He writes the story, sometimes by his own mouth and sometimes through a third single person. In cartoons, sometimes a picture in a square is like a summary of the event that can be described in a few pages. In this study, starting from the narrative characteristics of the cartoons, we will discuss how visual language and body language finds life in the cartoons and what they express.
