“We are not nationalists; we are Tacuara and that’s that”. The Tacuara experience during the Argentine Revolution (1966-1973)

Abstract:

This article addresses the ruptures and continuities in the political culture of the Movimiento Nacionalista Tacuara after 1966, a period that historiography has considered as post-Tacuara. In this phase, "of reconfiguration and decline" (1966-1973), the axis moved from Buenos Aires to the province of Santa Fe. We conclude that in this stage, Tacuara members were disappointed by nationalism, which led to the rethinking of the notion of "national revolution" that had been the backbone of the movement in the previous years. To trace this periodization, the decentration of the history of Tacuara through the inclusion of the Santa Fe space and the use of the concept of "political culture" will be crucial.
