Abstract:

This study was conducted to determine the impact of underwritten cartoons on the listening/seeing skills of Turkish-learning Syrian students. In this context, the problem phrase of the study is "What is the impact of alt-written cartoons on the listening/seeing skills of Syrian students learning Turkish?" It creates the question. In this study, the control group of quantial research methods implemented the final test experimental pattern. The data of the study was analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 package program. The study’s work group consists of 30 Syrian students studying in the PICTES framework at a secondary school in the Esenler district located in Istanbul. The research was applied to two different groups of language levels, which are at B2 level and created by a mixed method, each of which consists of 15 people. Eight different cartoons, which offer remarkable pieces of the lives of the Turkish great people, which are outstanding in Turkish history, are sub-written to the experimental group each week in the eight-week process, and sub-written to the control group. The subtitles of the cartoons presented underlying to the experimental group were added by the researcher through the Camtasia 9.0 program. After each cartoon, two groups were tested to understand that the validity and reliability of foreigners were controlled by experts working in the field of Turkish teaching that they listen to/see the same. According to the research results, the cartoons were more successful in the understanding tests that the group who watched the cartoons listened / watched according to the group who watched the cartoons, and that the cartoons had a more durable and effective learning and had a positive impact on listening / watching.
