Yüksek teknolojili ürünler üretmek ve bu ürünleri ihraç etmek ülkeler açısından stratejik öneme sahiptir. Ülkelerin ihraç ettikleri ürünlerin teknolojik içerikleri, teknoloji düzeylerinin bir göstergesi niteliğindedir. Bu nedenle ihracata yönelik büyüme stratejisine dayalı çalışmalar arasında yüksek teknoloji yoğunluğuna sahip ürün ihracatı ve ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişkinin ele alınması önem kazanmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı 2008-2020 dönemi için Ekonomik İşbirliği ve Kalkınma Örgütü (OECD) üyesi ülkelerde yüksek teknolojili ürün ihracatının ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkisini panel veri analiz yöntemi ile ortaya koymaktır. Bu amaçla Panel ARDL/PMG (Havuzlanmış Ortalama Grup) yöntemi uygulanarak ekonomik büyüme bağımlı değişken olarak belirlenmiş ve farklı bağımsız değişkenler analize dahil edilmiştir. Seçilmiş 26 OECD üyesi ülkede ekonomik büyüme, yüksek teknolojili ürün ihracatı, Araştırma-Geliştirme harcamaları ve doğrudan yabancı yatırımlar arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre; yüksek teknolojili ürün ihracatı, kısa ve uzun dönemde ekonomik büyümeyi pozitif etkilemektedir.
Producing high-tech products and exporting these products have strategic importance for countries. The technological content of the products exported by the countries is an indicator of their technology level. For this reason, it is important to consider the relationship between high technology-intensive product exports and economic growth among studies based on export-oriented growth strategy. The aim of this study is to reveal the effect of high technology-intensive exports on economic growth in the member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) for the period of 2008-2020 with panel data analysis method. For this purpose, economic growth was determined as the dependent variable by applying the Panel ARDL/PMG (Pooled Average Group) method and different independent variables were included in the analysis. The relationship between economic growth, high technology exports, Research and Development expenditures and foreign direct investments in 26 selected OECD member countries has been examined. According to the results of the study; exports of high-tech products have a positive effect on economic growth in the short and long term.
