Adalet, bilinen en eski yazılı kaynaklardan olan Gılgamış’ın bile merkezi kavramlarından olmasına rağmen bütün insanların üzerinde ittifak ettiği adalet tanımı mevcut değil. Ancak herhangi bir kavramın hakikatine ulaşmak için herkesin bu kavramla ilgili belli bir tanımın üzerinde ittifak etmesi gerekmez. Bu sebeple belki de adalet’in hakiki doğasının ne olduğu asırlar önce ifade edilmiş olabilir. Eğer bu böyleyse “adalet”in hakiki tanımını nerede aramamız gerekir? Kutsal metinlerde mi, mitlerde mi, edebi eserlerde mi yoksa filozofların eserlerinde mi? Çalışmamızda adalet’in hakiki doğasının ne olduğunu irdelemeye çalışmış bazı isimlerin tezleri üzere fikir yürüteceğiz. “Adalet”in ne olduğuyla ilgili kafa yoran isimlerin başında Platon gelir. Adalet anlamına ulaşmak için Platon'un nasıl bir yol takip ettiğini irdelemeye çalışacağız. Çalışmamızın amacı Platon’un adalet tanımını yeniden hatırlatmak, geçerliliğini felsefi açıdan test etmek ve günümüz akademisinde onun açtığı ufuk üzerinde adalet kavramının ele alınıp alınmadığını göstermektir. Machiavelli sonrasında adalet kavramının hangi cihetlerinin “karartıldığını” göstermesi bakımından önem arz eden çalışmamız, adalet kavramının geçirmiş olduğu felsefi serüveni inceleyen araştırmaların eksikliğinin giderilmesine de katkıda bulunacağını düşünüyoruz. İşbu irdelememizde Platon’un adalet kavramına ilişkin verdiği tanımın işaret ettiği hakikat ufkunun karartılamayan ve kendisini yeniden düşünmemizi sağlayan cihetlerinin olduğu tezine ulaştık.
Even though justice is one of the central concepts of Gılgamış, the oldest known written sources, there is no definition of justice that all people are united over. But to reach the truth of any concept, it is not necessary for everyone to unite on a certain definition of this concept. That’s why it may have been expressed centuries before what the true nature of justice is. If so, where should we find the true definition of “justice”? In the sacred texts, in the myths, in literary works or in the works of philosophers? In our study we will make an idea of the theses of some names who have tried to figure out what the true nature of justice is. In the beginning of the thoughts about what is "Justice" comes Platon. We will try to figure out how Platon is following the way to reach the meaning of justice. The aim of our study is to remind Platon’s definition of justice, to test its validity in a philosophical perspective and to show whether the concept of justice is addressed on the horizon he opens in today’s academy. We believe that our study of the importance of showing which of the concepts of justice after Machiavelli are "destroyed" will also contribute to the elimination of the lack of research that studies the philosophical scope that the concept of justice has passed through. In this discourse we have reached the thesis that the truth horizon, which Platon’s definition of the concept of righteousness indicates, is untouchable, and that it allows us to re-think it.
Although justice is one of the central concepts of Gilgamesh, one of the oldest known written sources, there is no definition of justice on which all people agree. However, in order to reach the truth of any concept, not everyone has to agree on a certain definition of the concept. Perhaps it may have been stated centuries ago what the true nature of justice was. If so, where should we look for the true definition of justice: in scriptures, myths, literary works, or works of philosophers? In our study, we will discuss the theses of some philosophers who have tried to examine what the true nature of justice is. Plato comes first among those who reason about what justice is. We will try to examine the path Plato followed in order to reach the meaning of justice and the validity of this path today. The aim of our study is to remind Plato's definition of justice, to show its validity and whether the concept of justice has been addressed in his academy today. Our study shows which aspects of the concept of justice have been “beclouded” after Machiavelli. This will contribute to the lack of research examining the philosophical adventure of the concept of justice. In this analysis, we have reached the thesis that the horizon of truth indicated by the definition of Plato’s concept of justice has aspects that cannot be beclouded and we have been reconsidered.
