Abstract:

Sosyal sermaye eski bir kavram olmasına rağmen, 1990'lı yıllarda akademik ve politika tartışmalarına girmiştir. Ekonomik ve sosyal olayları açıklamadaki önemi son yıllarda giderek daha fazla hissedilmiştir. Sosyal sermaye sosyal normları, değerleri, inançları, güveni, yükümlülükleri, ilişkileri, ağları, arkadaşları, üyeleri, sivil katılımın, bilgi akışlarının ve karşılıklı yararlar için iş birliği ve kolektif eylemleri teşvik eden ve sosyoekonomik kalkınmaya katkıda bulunan kurumları içeren çok boyutlu bir fenomen olarak ifade edilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı üniversite öğrencilerinin sosyal sermaye düzeylerinin sosyo-demografik özelliklere göre anlamlı bir farklılık gösterip göstermediğini incelemektir. Çalışmada kullanılan “Sosyal Sermaye Ölçeği” stratejik güven, genelleştirilmiş güven, kurumsal güven, ortak değerler ve grup aidiyeti olmak üzere beş alt boyuttan oluşmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Gaziantep Üniversitesi İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi’nde öğrenim gören 296 öğrenciden anket yöntemi veri toplanmıştır. Yapılan t testi ve ANOVA analizleri sonucunda öğrencilerin sosyal sermaye düzeylerinin cinsiyet, bölüm ve sınıf değişkenlerine göre anlamlı farklılık gösterdiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Abstract:

Although social capital is an ancient concept, it entered academic and political discussions in the 1990s. The importance of explaining economic and social events has been increasingly felt in recent years. Social capital is expressed as a multi-dimensional phenomenon that includes social norms, values, beliefs, trust, obligations, relationships, networks, friends, members, civil participation, information flows and collective actions for mutual benefit and institutions that contribute to socio-economic development. The aim of this study is to study whether the levels of social capital of university students show significant differences according to their socio-demographic characteristics. The "Social Capital Scale" used in the study consists of five subdimensions: strategic trust, generalized trust, corporate trust, common values and group membership. In this study, the data of the survey method was collected from 296 students studying at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Gaziantep University. The t test and ANOVA analyses have found that the social capital levels of students differ significantly according to gender, division and class variables.
