Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study marriage harmony in terms of certain variables and to determine the impact of attitudes regarding social gender roles on marriage harmony. The researchers consist of couples living in the province of Konya and who have been married for at least a year. In total, 245 married couples were reached. According to the purpose of the study, a survey was applied to the participants consisting of "Personal Information Form", "The Scale of Compatibility in Marriage" and "The Scale of Social Gender Roles Attitude". T tests and one-way variance analyses have been conducted in order to determine whether marriage harmony is different or not. The results of the analyses were found that the status of education, the number of children, the form of marriage, the age of marriage and the income of marriage were different. However, the role of equal gender has been found to be the single contributor of marriage harmony. According to the results of the research, there are recommendations.
