Sosyo-Kültürel Özelliklerin Anne Babaların Müzik Eğitimine Yönelik Tutumlarına Etkisi

Abstract:

Bu çalışmanın amacı çocukları ilkokul ve ortaokulda eğitim gören anne babaların (ebeveynlerin) müzik eğitimine ilişkin tutumlarını çeşitli değişkenlere göre incelemektir. Araştırmada kullanılan yöntem, betimsel nitelikte, tarama modelindedir. Örneklem grubunu ise 2017/2018 akademik yılında Sinop ili sınırları içerisinde eğitim veren dört ilkokul ve üç ortaokuldaki öğrencilerin toplam 1168 ebeveynden oluşmuştur. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak sosyo-kültürel özellikler anketi ve Güdek ve Karakaya (2013) tarafından geliştirilen “İlköğretim Okullarındaki Müzik Eğitimine İlişkin Anne-Baba Tutumları Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. 34 maddeden oluşan bir tutum ölçeği tek boyutlu olup Cronbah Alfa güvenirlik katsayısıyla hesaplanan güvenirliği 0.97’dir. Sosyo-kültürel özellikler anketinde, araştırmaya katılan ebeveynlerin ailedeki yerleri, yaşları, aile yapılarını nasıl tanımladıkları, kendilerini nasıl tanımladıkları, eğitim durumları, meslekleri, ortalama aylık gelirleri, annelerin iş yaşamında aktif olarak rolü olup olmadığı ve çocuğun cinsiyetini içeren toplam 9 sorudan oluşmaktadır. Araştırmanın bulgularında; araştırmaya katılan anne-babaların müzik eğitimine yönelik tutumları sosyo kültürel özelliklerle ilişkilendirilmiş ve bu değişkenlere göre anlamlı farklılaşmalar olup olmadığı saptanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre müzik eğitimine ilişkin anne-baba tutumlarının; anne ya da baba oluşlarına, kendini tanımlamalarına, eğitim durumlarına, mesleklerine, gelir durumlarına, çocuklarının cinsiyetine ve annenin iş yaşamında aktif oluşuna göre anlamlı şekilde farklılaştığı görülmüştür. Ebeveyn tutumlarının yaşlarına ve aile yapılarına göre anlamlı bir farklılık göstermediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Elde edilen bu bulgular doğrultusunda da bir takım öneriler geliştirilmiştir.

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to examine the attitudes of parents (parents) who educate children in primary and secondary schools towards music education according to various variables. The method used in the research is in the visual nature, in the scanning model. The sample group consisted of a total of 1168 parents of four primary and three high school students who educated within the limits of Sinop in the academic year 2017/2018. The study used the survey of socio-cultural characteristics as a data collection tool and the "Made of Parental Attitudes on Music Education in Primary Schools" developed by Güdek and Karakaya (2013). A attitude scale consisting of 34 items is one-dimensional and the reliability calculated by the Cronbah Alfa reliability ratio is 0.97. The survey of socio-cultural characteristics consists of a total of 9 questions that include the parents who participate in the study’s family location, age, how they define their family structures, how they define themselves, their educational conditions, professions, their average monthly income, whether the mothers are actively involved in the business life, and the child’s gender. The findings of the study found that the attitudes of the parents involved in the study towards music education were linked to social-cultural characteristics and that there were significant differences according to these variables. The study found that parents’ attitudes towards music education vary significantly according to the formation of the mother or father, their self-definition, their educational conditions, their professions, their income conditions, their children’s gender and their mother’s activity in the work life. The conclusion is that parents' attitudes do not show significant differences according to their age and family structure. According to these findings, a number of recommendations have been developed.

The aim of this study is to analyze parents’ attitude towards music education whose children are primary and secondary school students according to different variables. The sample group consists of 1168 parents whose children were educated at 4 primary and 3 secondary schools of Sinop in 2017/2018 Academic Year. In this research, socio-cultural features survey and “Parents Attitude Scale Towards Music Education at Elementary Schools” developed by Güdek and Karakaya (2013) are used as data collection tools. This attitude scale that consists of 34 items is unidimensional and its reliability is 0.97 calculated by Cronbah Alfa reliability co-efficient. Socio-cultural features survey consists of 9 questions such as parents’ place in the family, their ages, how they define their family structure, how they define themselves, their education status, jobs and monthly income, whether the mothers have an active role in business life or not and the gender of the child. Findings of the research indicate that parents’ attitude towards music education are linked to socio-cultural features and whether there are significant differentiations related to variables or not is determined. According to the results of the research, it is found that parents’ attitude related to music education change according to being the father or the mother, how they define themselves, their educational status, jobs and income levels, their children’s gender and whether the mother is actively engaged with the work life. Moreover, it is concluded that there is no significant differentiation in terms of parents’ ages and their family structures. Some suggestions are presented based on the findings
