Abstract:

When the studies on children's literature are examined, it is seen that the works are mainly handled in terms of their compliance with the principles of children's literature. However, the works of children's literature have not been examined in terms of the suitability of the content and processing of the works to the psychology of children. For this purpose, in this study, the first three novels written by one of today's well-known writers Behiç Ak, which are historically determined from children's novels, "Long live Brotherhood of the Letter Ç”, “The Seashell Coming in the Mail” and “The Little Train Going Home" were analyzed in terms of child psychology. Since the aim of the study was to find out the factors affecting child psychology, the works were examined, and for this reason, document analysis method, which is considered to be one of the qualitative research methods, was used. When the given works were examined in terms of the factors affecting child psychology, it was concluded that the author placed the child at the center of his works, valued the child and criticized the factors that negatively affected child psychology. The environmental or individual factors that the child characters in his works are affected by have reached the results confirmed by child psychology. The author, who knows that the psychology of the child can affect the society and all humanity, has taken firm steps towards creating a healthy society by addressing how the child should be treated in his works.
