Abstract:

Palu is a historic settlement located in the Murat River Valley in Eastern Anadolu. Palu, which we have not known much about the historical history of the pre-Othman period, was subjected to an administrative structure that had a special status in the Ottoman period and was called the Government. The town of Palu, located on the river Murat, also had land on the opposite side of the river. Also from Diyarbakır to Erzincan and Bayburt and from here to the Black Sea ports such as Trabzon and Samsun, it was also necessary to pass through the Palu Bridge. In this study, in light of historical documents, information was provided about the function of the Palu Bridge and the construction and repair activities carried out in the Ottoman era.
