Abstract:

The present study aimed to explore the attitudes of parents towards children's rights according to various variables. The model of the research is quantitative and in relational screening model. The sample of the study included 477 volunteer parents selected by purposive sampling method and living in seven different regions of Turkey. The data were collected with the "General Information Form" and "Parental Attitude Scale towards Children's Rights". Ethics committee permission and informed consent of the parents were obtained in order to conduct the study. Research data were collected online via Google Form. After all; The age, educational status, socioeconomic level and family type of the parents, parents and spouses participating in the research and the attitudes of the parents towards children's rights do not differ (p>0.05). It has been determined that parents who have knowledge about the content of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and whose spouses are university graduates have a high attitude towards children's rights (p<0.05). In line with the results obtained from the research, suggestions were given to professionals working with children and their families.
