DİZEL MOTORLARINDA HİDROJENİN EK YAKIT OLARAK KULLANILIMININ MOTOR PERFORMANSINA ETKİSİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract:

Motorlu taşıtlarda kullanılan fosil kökenli yakıtların, mevcut rezervler bakımından yeterli olmadığı açıktır. Bu sebeple taşıtlarda kullanılabilecek yeni alternatif yakıtlara ihtiyaç vardır. Bu alternatif yakıtlardan birisi de doğada bol miktarda bulunan, geleneksel yakıtlara göre motorlardan daha yüksek güç elde edilmesini sağlayan ve çevreye olumlu etkileri olan hidrojendir. Bu çalışmada tek silindirli, dört zamanlı, hava soğutmalı bir dizel motoru üzerinde motorin ve motorin-hidrojen karışımları yakıt olarak denenmiştir. Hidrojen, karıştırıcı vasıtasıyla motorun emme manifoldun dan belirli oranlarda verilmiştir. Deneyler tam yük şartlarında yapılarak, sonuçlar her iki yakıt için karşılaştırılmıştır. Deneyler sonucunda, dizel motoruna hidrojen ilavesinin motorun volümetrik verimini kötüleştirdiği ve motorun vuruntulu çalışmasına sebep olduğu görülmüştür. Bu sebeple hidrojenin dizel motorlarında ilave yakıt olarak kullanılmasının uygun olmadığı kanaatine ulaşılmıştır.

Abstract:

Considering the current reservoirs it is clear that fossil based fuels used in motor vehicles would not satisfy the future needs . For this reason, new alternative fuels are necessary to be used in vehicles. One of these alternative fuels is hydrogen, Which is present widely in nature, at produes more power than the conventional fuels and has no negative effects on the environment. In this study, diesel fuel and diesel fuel+hydrogen mixture were tested in a single cyclinder, four stroke, air cooled diesel engine. Hydrogen was added at the engine’s intake manifold at determined rates . The experiment were conducted at full laod conditions and the results were compared for both of the fuels. As the result of the experiments, it was observed that the adding of hydrogen to diesel fuel worseres the volumetric efficiency and causes knock. Consequently, it was concluded that, addition of hydrogen to diesel fuel was not suitable for use in diesel engines
