Abstract:

Today, the growing tourism sector is facing us as an important competitive area. The assessment of alternative tourism areas in the tourism sector has become extremely important. Recently, Turkey has recorded serious advances in the tourism sector and has become part of the world tourism. Turkey has a great impact on the development of a wide variety of resources in terms of tourism. In particular, the diversity of alternative tourism areas is seen as an advantage. This alternative tourism area is shopping tourism. In tourism, shopping has an important place both in terms of economic return and cultural communication. The Taş Han Wednesday, which is the subject of our work, is the most important historical and tourist Wednesday known in Erzurum, an important winter tourism center. In this context, we are trying to discuss the assessment of the area’s tourism business. The formal interview method and data from the Wednesday trade were collected and the tourism assessment of the Wednesday trade was revealed. According to the results obtained, it is found that the Wednesday trade has considered Taş Han as an important tourist center, but foreign tourist visits are below the expected. It is also shown that the date of the quarter is an important feature, six of the subjects of insufficient promotion are drawn up.
