Bu çalışma, fen bilimleri öğretmeni adaylarının derste teknoloji kullanımına yönelik eğilimlerini ortaya çıkarmayı amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma, karma yöntem desenlerinden yakınsak karma desen ile yürütülmüştür. Nicel verilerin toplandığı çalışma grubunu fen bilgisi öğretmenliği programında okuyan 88 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Nicel veri toplama aracı olarak Derste Teknoloji Kullanımına Yönelik Eğilim Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Bu ölçek, 2 boyutlu 16 maddeden oluşan bir ölçme aracıdır. Nitel verilerin toplandığı çalışma grubunu ise nicel araştırmaya katılmayan öğretmen adayları arasından seçilen 11 kişi (1. sınıf 6 kişi; 4. sınıf 5 kişi) oluşturmaktadır. Nitel verilerin toplanması, öğretmen adaylarının teknolojiyi derste kullanmaya yönelik görüşlerini ortaya çıkartmayı amaçlayan yarı-yapılandırılmış görüşme ile yapılmıştır. Elde edilen nicel bulgulara göre öğretmen adaylarının derste teknoloji kullanmaya yönelik duyuşsal eğilimleri davranışsal eğilimlere göre daha yüksek olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Yine hem nicel bulgular hem de nitel bulgular, 4. sınıf öğretmen adaylarının derste teknoloji kullanmaya yönelik eğilimlerinin 1. sınıflara göre daha yüksek olduğunu göstermektedir.
This study aims to reveal the tendencies of science teachers candidates towards the use of technology in the course. The research was carried out by the Karma pattern. The study group of Nicel data is composed of 88 students studying in the science knowledge teaching program. The trend measurement for the use of technology in the course has been used as a nicel data collection tool. This scale is a measurement tool consisting of 16 matters of 2 dimensions. The work group, in which the qualification data is collected, consists of 11 students selected among the teachers candidates who do not participate in the quantitative research (1th class 6 persons; 4th class 5 persons). The collection of qualifying data was conducted through a semi-configured interview aimed at revealing the opinions of teachers candidates on the use of technology in the classroom. Quantitative findings show that teachers’ sensational tendencies to use technology in the class are higher than behavioral tendencies. Again, both quantitative and qualitative findings show that 4th-class teachers' candidates tend to use technology in class higher than 1st-class teachers.
The current study aimed to reveal the pre-service science teachers’ tendencies towards using technology in class. The study employed the convergent mixed design, one of the mixed method designs. A total of 88 preservice teachers participated in the quantitative part of the study. As the data collection tool, the Scale of Tendency Towards Using Technology in Class was used. It consists of 16 items in two dimensions. A total of non-participant eleven preservice teachers volunteered to participate in the qualitative data collection part of the study (6 first-year students and 5 fourth-year students). The qualitative data were collected with a semi-structured interview form constructed to elicit the participants’ opinions about the use of technology in class. The quantitative findings revealed that preservice teachers' emotional tendency to use technology during lessons is higher than their behavioral tendencies. However, both quantitative and qualitative findings show that senior year preservice teachers’ tendencies to use technology during lessons are higher than that of freshman year preservice teachers.
