Abstract:

He is one of the most important representatives of his Arabic humble tradition, Abu Dulâme al-Assadi, a poet who lived in the periods of Seffâh, Mansûr and Mehdi, the last periods of the Emevians and the first three caliphs of the Abbâsîs. In this study, the poet’s humorous ability was influenced by the life and the environment in which he lived, and the humorous direction in the poet’s words and poems was studied. As the first poet of the Abbasians, Abû Dulâme has an important role in the formation of the poetry and literature of this period. With seffah being taken to the palace, he managed to entertain both the caliphs and, if necessary, the other state ricalists with his ridiculous personality, latephic words, stories and poems. He was not afraid of laughing himself and his loved ones in order to make the Haliffs laughing and gain financial benefit from them. He is not sensitive in religious matters because he is too pleased with entertainment.
