Abstract:

The purpose of the study is to determine the impact of the use of material in classroom in the teaching of tourist values on student academic achievements. The research was aimed at determining the impact of material-backed teaching on student success, which is a dependent variable, and half-experimental models of quantum research methods were used. In the 2018-2019 educational year, 52 fifth-class students continuing to a state high school located in Aydin or Köşk district have formed a study group of research. The data of the study was collected with the success test prepared by taking into account the questions related to the subject from the State Cashless Investment and Stock Exchange Examination for the fifth classes between 2004 and 2018. Before and at the end of the application process, the success test is applied as a preliminary and final test. In the application process, the students in the experiment group were taught material-backed teaching according to the achievements determined, while the students in the control group were taught using the straight narrative method. In the analysis of the data, the non-parametric analysis used the Mann-Whitney U test and the Wilcoxon-marked order test. The study found that there was a significant difference between the experiment group in which material-backed teaching was applied in the teaching of tourism values and the control group in which the straight story method was applied in the average of the test success points.
