Abstract:

Bilindiği üzere Akşehir, bir ilçe merkezi olmakla birlikte, siyasî, ekonomik ve stratejik bakımdan Anadolu’nun önemli yerleşim yerlerinden biridir. Millî Mücadele yıllarında da burada çok yoğun hareketler yaşanmıştır. Özellikle Türk-Yunan savaşı sırasında Batı Cephesi’nin önemli merkezlerinden biri olan Akşehir üzerine yeterince araştırma yapıldığı söylenemez. Bu araştırmada, Millî Mücadele’de Akşehir’in yeri, konuyla ilgili arşiv vesikaları ve diğer kaynaklar taranarak tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Saha araştırması denilen metodla bazı hatıralar, literatüre kazandırılırken, ilk kez Akşehir Vefâyâta Mahsus Vukûat Defterleri de incelenerek Akşehirli şehitler ayrıntılı bir şekilde ortaya çıkarılmıştır.
