Birbirine icazet veren şeyhlerin, peşi sıra tahta çıkan hükümdarların ve aynı soydan gelen kişilerin sıralı listesini içeren eserlere silsilenâme adı verilir. Yazma eser kütüphanelerinde pek çok Türkçe silsilenâme örneği bulunmaktadır. Bunların çoğunluğunu bir tarikatın birbirine icazet veren şeyhlerinin isimlerini içeren liste oluşturmaktadır. Tarikat silsilenâmelerini mensur ve manzum olarak ikiye ayırmak mümkündür. Mensur silsilenâmeler icazetnâme / hilâfetnâme türünde olanlar, vefeyâtnâme / menakıbnâme türünde olanlar ve tasavvufî bilgilerle karışık olanlar şeklinde üç gruba ayrılabilir. Tasavvufî bilgilerle karışık silsilenâmelerden biri Himmetzâde Torunu Seyyid Ahmed Cezbî’nin Câmi‘u’s-silsile adlı eseridir. Müellifi 50 yaşındayken 1235 (1819-20) yılında yazılan Câmi‘u’s-silsile Bayrâmiyye, Halvetiyye ve Himmetiyye tarikatları şeyhlerinin silsilesini içermektedir. Etvâr-ı seb‘a ile ilgili malumatın da bulunduğu eser Himmetiyye tarikatının son dönem şeyhleri hakkında bilgiler içermesi açısından önemlidir. Câmi‘u’s-silsile’yi değerli kılan başka bir nokta Seyyid Ahmed Cezbî’nin doğum tarihinin tespitini sağlamasıdır. Süslü nesirle yazılan Câmi‘u’s-silsile’de yer yer cümleler arası anlamsal kopukluklara ve anlamda muğlâklıklara rastlanmaktadır. Bu makalede silsilenâme türünün Türk edebiyatındaki görünümüne ışık tutulmuş, bu türün bir tasnif denemesi yapılmıştır.
