Abstract:

This study has been conducted to analyze preschool teachers' attitudes and opinions towards the Turkic World. A mixed-method approach was employed in this study to achieve this purpose. The study sample consists of 139 preschool teachers decided through a simple random sampling technique. The “Turkish World Attitude Scale” and an open-ended questionnaire the researchers prepared were used to collect the data. A statistics program and content analysis were used to analyze the data obtained. As a result of the research, it was concluded that preschool teachers' attitudes toward the Turkish World were at the level of "moderately agree." It was found that teachers' attitudes towards the Turkic World did not show a significant difference based on the teachers' educational institution; however, it significantly differed based on the variable of professional experience. Further, it has been concluded that teachers' views on the Turkic World are categorized under the headings of values, countries, locations, communities, trends, works, and personalities. As part of the study results, it has been observed that the behavioral sub-dimensions of preschool teachers' attitudes towards the Turkic World are low. Thus, it is recommended that the Ministry organize trips and carry out cultural activities within the scope of a project to enhance these attitudes among teachers. It has been observed that teachers' attitudes towards the Turkic World are higher among those with more professional experience. Therefore, in-service training programs can be organized to enhance the attitudes of teachers with less professional experience toward the Turkic World. In addition, studies can be conducted to determine teachers' attitudes and opinions towards the Turkic World in different branches.
