Abstract:

The purpose of the research is to reveal the attitudes of pre-school teachers towards the teaching of science. In order to collect data, the science teaching attitude scale and personal information forms have been used. The study was conducted with 169 teachers located in the Eskişehir province. Analysis of the research data took advantage of Kolmogorov-Simirnov and Kruskal-Wallis tests. The findings show that 70% of pre-school teachers’ attitudes towards the teaching of science are positive at the middle and high levels. According to teachers' professional backgrounds, teachings with professional backgrounds between 11-30 years have been more comfortable in their practices in the teaching of science and have more positive attitudes towards preparing before. According to the degree programs that teachers graduate, teachers who graduate from the Child Development and Teaching Degree Program have a more comfortable attitude in the teaching of science, teachers who graduate from the Pre-School Teaching Degree Program have a more positive attitude in terms of developmental suitability. There is no significant difference in the attitudes of teachers to teach science according to the age group of children.
