Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to identify the views of history teachers to ensure their professional development. The work group of the research in which the quality research method is used consists of 37 history teachers who are working in different high schools related to the MEB located in Antalya province. The data of the research was collected with the help of an open end question form prepared by the researcher, taking the opinions of the field experts. The data obtained was analyzed using the visual analysis method. In general, the findings of the study have been found that the training they receive in the pre-service period contributes to the professional development but that the service-in-service educational activities are deficient in the implementation size, that the professional development activities and related cultural activities are diverse, that history teachers are unable to participate effectively in the scientific activities at the desired level for the professional development, that they follow scientific publications and that they realize the need to renew themselves for their professional development.
