Abstract:

The name of the work of Sa’di Şirâzî’s Gülistân, which was translated from Persian to our language, was welcomed with great interest in every period, and about it were written sherhles, nazis and dictionaries. The work on dictionaries and grammares is as old as the invention of the text. Orthodox dictionaries in the period XIV-XVI. It is concentrated in centuries. These dictionaries consist of Arabic-Turkish, Persian-Turkish or several languages. In addition to the dictionaries written between languages, there are also dictionaries created for some works that have an important place in the literary world. The dictionaries written in the name of important works such as Gülistân, Bostân, Mesnevi, Şehnâme are of such works dictionaries. The primary purpose of writing of these dictionaries is to ensure that the works are better and easier to understand by the readers. The work of the dictionary is written on the subject of our work. In our work, the Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Book-i Lügat-i Gülistân, which is located in the Topkapı Palace Museum Library, was studied. In our work we detailedly presented the aforementioned generation dictionary, information about the dictionary was given in terms of both shape and content, and the place in the dictionary tradition was mentioned. It has also been shown that the work we support with images and explain with various words examples is different from the emblem.
